Power Yoga
Power Yoga is a vigorous, fitness based style of Yoga where students move from one posture to another in a continual flow, linking movements to breath. This physically demanding Yoga incorporates both a strong mind and body approach and is intended to build strength, flexibility, and mental focus while releasing tension in tight joints and muscles. Power yoga may be appropriate for those who have successfully rehabilitated from a back injury and or are looking for a more strenuous practice, as well as people who are already athletic, such as runners and cyclists who want to add flexibility, balance and concentration in order to complement their existing exercise routines. Neil Sullivan is an Exercise Physiologist and adjunct professor at Quincy College who has spent his career working in clinical, educational, corporate and private settings teaching health and fitness as a lifestyle to people of all ages, levels and abilities. For those students looking for both the physical benefits of Yoga as well as the stress reducing mental benefits, power Yoga is intended to provide both while challenging each student at their own individual level.
